Got an event you want the neighborhood to know about? To be included in our next Upper Haight roundup, please fill out the form at this link by Tuesday evening.
It's been a busy week in the Haight, with retirements, bike enforcement updates, do-gooders, and the sly acquisition of local shoe brand Shoe Biz by the chain NiceKicks.
Local crime this weekend saw both the worst—in a stabbing at Alvord Lake that resulted in one fatality and two hospitalizations—and the (sadly) mundane, in a mugging late Wednesday night at Cole and Waller, in which two suspects assaulted a pedestrian and stole a backpack, wallet, computer and cash, according to SFPD.
Positive news: we're happy to report that work crews were out on Wednesday, finally repairing the sinkhole in front of Zam Zam with durable concrete.
Don't forget that your chance is here to apply for a new street tree from Friends of the Urban Forest (application due January 3rd).
If you're in the mood to drink your way into the last week before Christmas, we're happy to announce that master bartender Larry Piaskowy unveils a new winter cocktail menu at Alembic (which advertises with us) this weekend.
The 'hood has a smattering of holidayesque offerings in store this weekend, and with these, we wish you happy weekend festivities.
