The intersection of Fourth and Mission is always bustling on Saturday night thanks to moviegoers heading to the Metreon, but last night, they got a second show: a motorist, who was fleeing a traffic stop, struck another car shortly after 7pm, flipping over in the middle of the road.

According to the Chronicle, the driver exited the car after the crash and took off running, but was pursued by multiple people who had witnessed the accident. The police said a suspect had been taken into custody, and that occupants of the two cars sustained only minor injuries. The aftermath of the accident snarled traffic in all directions, and drew a number of witnesses:

How does something like this happen in San Francisco traffic??
