While we don't report on every crime, we do our best to keep you informed of major crimes and safety concerns in the neighborhood. Here's a selection of crimes reported around SoMa over the past three weeks. All details are pulled from the SFPD's daily crime recaps, unless otherwise noted.

Life-Threatening Stabbing

As we reported yesterday, a man was sent to the hospital in critical condition around 7pm Jan. 2nd after being stabbed in the neck at Ninth & Howard Streets. According to police, the stabbing was unprovoked and the suspect has not been apprehended.

Nightclub Shooting

Two men were shot around 1:30am Dec. 28th, while standing outside of a club on the 300 block of 11th Street. The San Francisco Appeal reports that the victims, ages 22 and 30, were shot in the thigh and buttocks, respectively. The suspect, who was driving a dark sedan, has not been arrested.

Pistol-Whipped & Robbed

Three men in their 30s were robbed around 7:40pm Dec. 18th by two gun-wielding men on the 700 block of Folsom St. The suspects pistol-whipped the victims, then took their money and jewelry. Neither suspect was arrested.

Punched & Robbed

A man, 34, was attacked and robbed around 2am Jan. 4th, at Fifth and Clementina Streets. The victim was walking home from a bar when the suspect approached and punched him in the back of the head and in the mouth. When the victim regained consciousness, the suspect was gone—along with his wallet.

At 9:19pm on Jan. 2nd, a man was punched in the head and face and robbed of his shoulder bag on the 1800 block of Market Street. The suspects, a man and a woman in their 30s, fled the scene.

Robbed & Assaulted With Metal Pipe

A man, 32, was loading a dock on the 500 block of Ninth Street around 4:45pm on Dec. 23rd when a man took his backpack and ran. The victim chased the 25-year-old suspect, but was knocked unconscious when the suspect struck him with a metal pipe. Two witness then chased the suspect; one, a 26-year-old man, was also struck by the pipe, and lost consciousness. However, police were able to arrest the suspect.

Knife Fight

An argument between a man and woman at 2:15am Dec. 29th on the 300 block of Clementina ended with one in the hospital and the other arrested. During the argument, the suspect, a 35-year-old woman, pulled out a butcher knife and began to attack. The victim, a 68-year-old man, tried to defend himself, but was cut by the suspect in the arm and finger. The suspect fled the scene, but was later arrested when she returned to the same location.

Wrestling Match

Two men were wrestling in the street at Sixth and Mission around 4:30pm on Dec. 24th when one kicked and body-slammed the other. The victim, 37, lost consciousness, and the suspect, 20-25, fled and was not apprehended.

Hot Prowl

A resident on the 1000 block of Natoma Street awoke on the morning of Dec. 23rd to find that someone had entered her apartment between 2am and 7am, stealing her laptop, cellphone, purse and jewelry. Police say the victim, a 40-year-old woman, was sleeping on the second-floor loft when the suspect entered through a downstairs sliding glass door, stole her property and fled. No arrest was made.

Phone Snatched

A woman, 27, was walking on the 600 block of Howard Street around noon on Dec. 28th when a man, 20s, snatched her mobile phone from her hand and fled. He was not arrested.

Seven Audis Stolen From Dealership

In a holiday car heist, four suspects stole seven Audis on Dec. 30th from Royal Automotive Group at 1525 Howard St. According to NBC Bay Area's report, the suspects drove up to the dealership in a Lexus SUV around 12:40am. One suspect cut the main lock to the business' gate, drilling through the lock to the storage area. The suspect then walked up to the dealership's car key storage, taking keys and tools. The four suspects then drove several Audi vehicles, with a value of more than $420,000, off the lot. The SFPD is interviewing employees to determine whether the theft was an inside job.

Fleeing Car Flips On Mission

Attempting to flee a traffic stop around 7pm Jan. 2nd, a motorist struck another vehicle and flipped over in the middle of the road at Fourth and Mission streets. After being chased by onlookers (and causing quite the scene), the suspect was taken into custody.

Christmas Tree Burning

On Dec. 29th, officers spotted a Christmas tree on fire around 2:30am at the SoMa West Skate Park (at Stevenson and Duboce). They arrested a 42-year-old man seen walking away from the blaze.

At about 5pm on New Year's Day, a man lit another Christmas tree—sitting in the street on the unit block of McCoppin—on fire. The suspect, a 30-year-old man, was also arrested.
