Each week, we'll feature an especially interesting event in the neighborhood based on the event submissions we get, and what we hear about while we're out on the beat. If you want to be considered for next week, please submit your event here.

Divisadero boutique Rare Device is celebrating its 10-year anniversary this Friday, and everyone's invited.

The small retail shop was first opened by Rena Tom (of Hayes Valley's Makeshift Society) in Brooklyn. When Tom relocated to San Francisco, she and artist Lisa Congdon opened a location on upper Market, where they exhibited art and sold home goods and crafts made by small artisans.

In 2011, Gizelle Gyalzen bought the shop, and in 2012, she moved it closer to her home, at its present-day location on the corner of Divisadero and Hayes streets.

The 10-year anniversary party will be thrown in colorful Rare Device style, with live music from Uni the Ukulele Player, food from Bi-Rite and Little Bee Baking, face-painting and tarot card readings. In addition, special prints created by Congdon will be given to those who purchase $50 or more.

The whole shebang kicks off at 6pm this Friday, and runs until 9. We'll see you there.

If you're looking for more things to fill up your social calendar, here are a few more events taking place in the neighborhood this week:
