Yesterday, Mayor Ed Lee announced the appointment of Elaine Forbes as the interim deputy director of the Port of San Francisco. Forbes will temporarily fill the role vacated by longtime director Monique Moyer, who announced her resignation last month and will officially depart the port on Feb. 29th.

Forbes is currently the deputy director for finance and administration for the Port, and has a long resume of positions with the city, San Francisco International Airport and the city of Oakland. She's also worked for several nonprofit land use policy and economic development organizations. We'll let you know when a permanent replacement for Moyer is chosen.
