Orangetheory Fitness, a fast-growing workout company with more than 200 studios nationwide, is headed to San Francisco for the first time. In April, it will open locations at 343 Sansome St. in the FiDi and 215 King St. in SoMa. Employees are already at work in the spaces, signing up members at an introductory rate of $239 per month for unlimited classes.
The heart rate monitor-based program, which incorporates intervals of cardiovascular and strength training, aims to keep members in the "orange zone," in order to create a calorie-burning after-effect for up to 36 hours post-workout. Other Bay Area locations include Redwood City, Palo Alto, Alameda, Sunnyvale, and San Jose.
