"ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!" This is the first thing I read on a notice crudely taped to a telephone poll in front of the Alice sts malonga center mural. It's another reminder that there going to be a 126-unit condominium buildout right where the mural is located. By the out cry isn't from locals hopping to stop the project. No, it's from someone who lives in the neighborhood. I myself live in the area and I've seen these signs up before. Some of the quotes I've read are "The Malongan's and the CRP peeps are relentless like children who refuse to go to bed" another is "The Alice Street Murals call into question the common sense of the community Rejuvenation Project (CRP) and those who donated to the matching grant it applied for from East Bay Fund for Artists." I've seen neighbors ripping the signs down and even overhead while passing by, " Who is doing this? Such BullSh*t!" I know who is putting the signs up, early morning, again I live in the neighborhood. They only leave this as a clue:
At the bottom of each note it reads "A bemused Observer" or "A Concerned Citizen". If you would like to respond they kindly leave their P.O box for everyone to chime in. CONT' in part 2 soon.
