The Barbara Lee Science and Allied Health Center at Merritt College had its grand opening in late 2015, but after the celebration something unexpected and lovely presented itself: the building "sings!" Because of tiny holes in paneling on the building's side, windy days produce various loud tones. Faculty, staff, and students regularly pause outside to hear the rather otherworldly phenomenon before heading inside for school or work. It is unclear if the building was designed to do this, or if it's all a happy accident. The construction company (Clark Sullivan Construction) did not respond for comment.
