Streetwear Shop 'Fresh' Set To Shutter Haight StorefrontPhoto: Amy Stephenson/Hoodline

Fresh, one of the Haight's urban streetwear retailers, has confirmed that the "For Lease" sign in the window means the shop at 1603 Haight St. is set to close.

Fresh, you might remember, experienced a somewhat lengthy path to opening after struggling to get proper permits to renovate the space and recover from a flood that caused damage. The storefront finally opened last May, almost a year after moving into the shop.

An employee at Fresh was not able to disclose the timeline for closing, but once the shop closes, you'll still be able to shop at its sister entity Fresh Apparel online, or at Fresh Apparel's San Bruno and San Mateo locations.

This marks yet another business closing in the Upper Haight, and the second closing of a streetwear shop in recent months. Cukui, the streetwear shop at 1429 Haight, closed last July, and was swiftly replaced by Sol Disciples, another streetwear shop. For those keeping score at home, this leaves our streetwear tally at: Sol DisciplesTrueDiamond Supply Co.Black ScalePink + Dolphin, Traffic, Bespoke Cut & Sew, and Cookies.

No word yet on whether another streetwear store will take Fresh's place, or whether a new flavor of retail might be headed to the Haight Street stretch. If you had your druthers, what would you like to see move in?
