For the next four weeks or so, you'll notice something new gracing the walls at Crepes on Cole: a selection of photographs from artist Ernst Scheidegger, put on by San Francisco's Jules Maeght Gallery.
Scheidegger, who died earlier this year at the age of 92, was a Magnum photographer, photojournalist, and artist. He's perhaps best known for documenting the life and career of sculptor Alberto Giacometti, including making a film about him in 1962. Other artists whose processes he documented include Joan Miró and Hans Arp.
Luc Sokolsky, from Jules Maeght Gallery, said the work was a selection of Scheidegger's work from the 1950s and 1960s. "He was friends with a lot of artists and visited their studios" at the time, Sokolsky said, and the photographs are the fruits of that interaction.

Scheidegger's work was shown at Jules Maeght last summer, Sokolsky said, so while the gallery is providing the work for Crepes on Cole's walls, Scheidegger photographs won't be simultaneously shown in the gallery.
The gallery itself, at 149 Gough in Hayes Valley, is currently hosting an exhibition of work by author Dave Eggers, including a giant, rideable tricycle shaped like an ambling bear.
