The last few weeks of wet weather has made the Inner Sunset greener and more fragrant, so we've highlighted upcoming events where you can roll up your sleeves and get some grit under your nails.

For more than 25 years, Garden for the Environment has taught San Franciscans how to live more sustainably and raise plants that thrive. Located on an acre near 7th Avenue and Lawton, members and visitors have two workshops to choose from this weekend: a session on growing your own food, and another devoted to gardening in a drought.

From there, you can bring your newfound horticultural knowledge to Saturday's native plant sale at Mt. Sutro nursery, so you can apply what you've learned in a window box, a flowerpot or, if you're fortunate, in your own backyard.

And now, here are the rest of your weekend events. For more events from around the city, check out hoodline.com/events. You can also submit an event here to be included in a future roundup.
