Some Rincon Hill neighbors were disheartened to hear that The Market had abandoned its plans to turn the ground floor of the Lumina condo complex into a gourmet grocery store. But a new source of high-end groceries is taking over the corner of Main and Folsom.
According to Socketsite, Tishman Speyer has announced that Marin-based grocer Woodlands Market is taking the space instead, for its first-ever San Francisco location.
The grocery was founded in 1986 by the Santa family, which still owns it today. It has since expanded to a few different locations, offering a wide selection of produce, meats and seafood, along with breads baked in-house, alcohol and beauty products. It also runs a cafe next door to its original location in Kentfield.
The timeline for Woodlands' opening at Main and Folsom has not yet been disclosed.
