Street changes to improve cyclist safety have been popping up all over the city of late, and the latest installation just went in at the intersection of Townsend and the Embarcadero. According to a post from the SFMTA on Facebook, the intersection now has a two-stage turn box, allowing cyclists to easily access the promenade behind AT&T Park, as well as green-backed sharrows along Townsend in the direction of the Caltrain station.

The new additions are intended to replace the bike lane on King Street, which ended midblock as it approached Third Street. To help cyclists get around, there's also a new wayfinding sign, indicating the distances to the ballpark, Caltrain, and UCSF Mission Bay.
