Each week, we'll feature an especially interesting event in the neighborhood based on the event submissions we get, and what we hear about while we're out on the beat. If you want to be considered for next week, please submit your event here.
New Hayes Valley leather and accessories shop Will Leather Goods is holding a party this Friday, and the whole neighborhood is invited. The shop opened its doors late last year, just in time for the holiday shopping rush, but this Friday will mark the official opening celebration.
Will Leather Goods was founded by Will Adler in Oregon back in 2004, and its flagship brick-and-mortar location opened in Venice, CA in 2012. The Hayes Valley shop is one of eight stores throughout the country.
The festivities for the San Francisco opening will kick off at 7pm, and will include a performance by Union Square artist Edward Jackson, and DJs spinning soul and funk music.
Libations will be provided by Union Wine and Hangar One Vodka. Also available at the opening will be an exclusive tote, created just for the San Francisco shop.
"We are looking forward to celebrating with the neighborhood!" brand director Shane Adler told us.
Other events taking place in the neighborhood this week include a plethora of live music, an outdoor movie screening, and a crafty class at Gather. For more events around the city, check out hoodline.com/events.
If you have an event you'd like to add to our events calendar, you can submit it here for free. If approved, your event will appear on our new calendar and within the Hoodline news feed, which is seen by thousands of local readers every day.
If you submit, we may also choose to write about it or list it in our weekly neighborhood roundups.
