A Public Safety Meeting is being held by the Hayes Valley Neighborhood Association (HVNA) this coming Monday, to address the issue of property crimes in the neighborhood.
"A year ago, we had a meeting where we found there was a 40 percent jump in property crimes in Northern Police District in 2015 over 2014," writes Bob Barnwell, who's organizing the meeting. "This included a 70 percent increase in theft from cars. But it looks like there is some hope that 2016 is showing a decrease in Northern District."
Speaking at the event will be Northern Station's new Captain, John Jaimerena. He'll be accompanied by the new neighborhood prosecutor assigned to Northern District, Assistant District Attorney Erica Corns.
The meeting will take place at 7pm Monday, May 2nd, at the Korean American Cultural Center (745 Buchanan St.)
