Police are appealing to the public for help in locating a two-year-old girl who could be in danger due to the circumstances of her disappearance.
SFPD reports tonight that Arianna Fitts and her mother Nicole Fitts were reported missing on April 5th. Yesterday, Nicole was found dead in what police have deemed a homicide.
"Due to the sensitive nature of this investigation and information continuously developing, we cannot disclose further details on how she was located," SFPD reports, nor have they shared information on where Nicole was where she was last seen alive, only that it was on April 1st.
Police state that Arianna has not been seen since late February, and that she is "considered at-risk due to her young age and suspicion of foul play."
"The San Francisco Police Department has been dedicating numerous resources around the clock to this investigation," SFPD states in a press release. "Even so, we are asking for the public’s help in bringing Arianna home."
Police say that the mother and daughter were known to spend time in San Francisco, San Mateo, Oakland/Emeryville, Fresno, Santa Cruz, and Silicon Valley, as well as in Southern California. It's unclear at this time where they lived and where they were last seen, but we'll update with any new developments.
Police urge the public to call 911 immediately if you see Arianna. If you know anything about Nicole's murder or where Arianna might be, contact the SFPD Homicide Unit at (415) 553-1145, the SFPD Anonymous Tip Line at (415) 575-4444, or text a tip to TIP 411 with SFPD at the beginning of the message.
