Tonight will be the last night in business for Reverb Kitchen & Bar, the Polk Street restaurant which pivoted from the critically-acclaimed Verbena back in March of 2015.

The business at 2323 Polk St. will close its doors after service tonight, according to PR rep Tom Walton, who sent out a brief press release this morning. The release included the following comments from Reverb co-proprietor Eric Fenster:

"I'm very proud of what our team accomplished in San Francisco but we decided it is time to focus our efforts elsewhere. We are grateful to everyone involved and everyone who visited us over the last two years. We are excited to concentrate our energy on Gather, our sister restaurant in Berkeley, and to welcome the return of Executive Chef Charis Wahl to Gather’s kitchen."

Verbena, a project of the team behind Berkeley's acclaimed Gather, opened up on Polk Street in December of 2013, but shifted concepts to the more neighborhood-friendly Reverb after chef Sean Baker's surprise departure.

Stay tuned for what could be next for the restaurant's lofty Polk Street space.
