What's in store for the weekend ahead? We're glad you asked...

As we mentioned earlier this week, the team behind a new crisis response app Concrn is seeking volunteers for their street team. If you've ever been interested in helping your neighbors on the street work through their [nonviolent] struggles, as an alternative to dialing the police, you may want to consider taking their crisis response training course this Sunday.

To bring a little soul back into your body after a long week, blues vocalist, saxophonist, and songwriter Vanessa Collier is playing multiple shows at Biscuits and Blues this weekend. Here's a taste of this budding "old soul" before she hits the stage:


Ever Gold Project's second-to-last exhibition at 441 O'Farrell St. launches tomorrow evening. Read more about their departure from the Tenderloin here.

Finally, the Tenderloin Museum is hosting its second brown bag lunch talk Monday, this time with District Supervisor Jane Kim. The Museum's founder, Randy Shaw, will appear in conversation with Kim about the Tenderloin; here's an idea of where the conversation is headed, from Shaw's site Beyond Chron. This is a fundraiser for the museum, so tickets are being sold for $10 each, but there will be absolutely no talk of her 2016 senate race, the museum has explicitly warned.
