Meet the Bubble Wizard of Dolores Park

"I've been making large bubble in Dolores Park for maybe 7 or 8 years, and it's always made people happy. While living in San Francisco, I decided that because the bubbles were so immaterial and transient, I wanted to create something more with my science knowledge. So I set to work at making a small science museum in my house in the Mission, and it was called the Art Science Workshop. It consisted of large mirrors and prisms and gyroscopes... I was building all this stuff, and then last year, our apartment situation sort of crumbled, and so I moved to Oakland. Now, it's good again, and I have a big shop to work in, and I learned how to weld. I can make much bigger equipment. My biggest mirror is 6 feet by 6 feet."
