The ongoing Upper Market Safety Project, which we've previously covered in depth, continues this week with an open house for local residents and commuters to check out the proposed plans and voice their opinions.

The stretch of Market that the SFMTA considers "Upper Market" spans the mile from Octavia to Castro streets, encompassing such tricky intersections as Church and Market and Sanchez and Market. Plans in the works include sidewalk extensions, buffered and protected bike lanes, and changes to loading zones to "increase circulation" in the area.

The SFMTA open house will take place Thursday evening, at the Electrical Workers Union building at 55 Fillmore. Swing by at 5:30pm to have a look, ask questions, and see what changes may be coming to your neighborhood.
