You may have noticed some folks banging around inside the former Tatyana Boutique (and before that, Bettie Page) space at 1529 Haight. As it turns out, a new tenant is on the way: BodyRok Studios.
BodyRok Studios is essentially a boutique gym, with San Francisco locations in the Mission and the Marina, as well as Berkeley and Carlsbad. The gym offers three types of classes tailored to "beginners or advanced students": Cycle, Sculpt, and Yoga. These can be taken alone, or in various combinations.
Cycle is, as you'd expect, a traditional spin class. Sculpt is like Pilates, and uses "weighted springs" for resistance. BodyRok's FAQ describes it thusly:
BodyRok takes a traditional reformer workout and turns it up a notch by adding strength training exercises and high-energy music to keep the heart rate up the entire 40-minute class. Our method includes a greater variety of exercises, longer segments and quicker transitions, resulting in a more intense, sweat fueled, fast-paced Pilates workout.

According to their website, Yoga is only available in select locations. BodyRok has not responded to a request for comment as of this writing, so no word on whether the Haight location will offer it.
Pricing ranges from $20 for drop-in classes, to $400 for 20 classes. Or, for $250 per month, you can have unlimited access to as many classes as you like.
We'll keep an eye on things, and let you know when we learn more.
