The San Francisco Examiner reports that Ian Hespelt, 39, pleaded guilty to felony assault and vandalism last Friday, June 24th, in San Francisco Superior Court. A cyclist with a distinctive curled mustache, Hespelt damaged a Zipcar in the Marina with a U-lock during last August's Critical Mass, an act that appeared in a widely circulated video.

The video shows Hespelt yelling at the driver of the car and repeatedly smashing it with the bike lock; prosecutors said he caused $1,400 worth of damage to the car. He was arrested in SoMa on September 5th, after officers patrolling near AT&T Park recognized him. Hespelt will be sentenced at 9am July 25th.
