Tipster Mark G. wrote in to ask what was happening with the neon signs on both sides of the Stockton Tunnel that say, "QUIET THROUGH TUNNEL." He added, "I hope they are going to be restored and not discarded."
Do not fret, Mark G., for we asked the powers that be at SFMTA, and spokesperson Paul Rose assured us, "We did remove the signs so Public Works can do maintenance to replace the neon coloring. Once complete, the signs will be re-installed." He didn't have an ETA on it.
