It'll be dancing around 70 degrees this weekend, and we have plenty of reasons for you to get outside.
On the local art front, there's a free event tomorrow night at Art Attack SF (2722 Hyde Street), featuring three female artists—Deanna Marsigliese, Eliza Ivanova, and Zaruhi Galstyan—who illustrated the inspirational women throughout their lives. Donations will be accepted, and all proceeds will go directly to Casa De Las Madres, which provides services for those being affected by domestic violence.
On Saturday at Fort Mason, Taste of Mendocino will offer signature food and wine from across Mendocino County. Attendees will automatically be entered in a drawing to win one of two round trip tickets to any Surf Air destination, such as Las Vegas, Santa Barbara and Palm Springs. Tickets are $60 and available online.
And of course, Sunday brings the annual LGBT Pride Parade, kicking off at Market & Beale and ending at Market & 8th streets. Hoodline will have plenty of coverage, including the all-important traffic impact of the event.
Lastly, are you looking for work? Hoodline rolled out a helpful hiring guide for the neighborhood this week, so be sure to check it out if you're looking for some extra cash.
In other local news this week, Tony Gemignani is partnering up with the Giants to create two pizzas named after Joe Panik and Brandon Belt (we hope Angel Pagan is coming soon!) There's a new website where you can submit ideas for improving areas of North Beach, with popular topics like adding Big Belly trash cans on Columbus or an adopt-a-street program. Finally, in bad news for burrito lovers, it appears Taqueria San Jose (2257 Mason St.) will be closing—though Yelp mentions they'll be reopening early next month, so stay tuned.
Now, on to our editor's picks for the days ahead. For a full list of what's going on around town this weekend and beyond, don't forget to check our hoodline.com/events. If you see a local event missing and want to get in on the fun, submit it for free for the chance to see it featured in our next events roundup.
