With clear skies and warm weather in the forecast for the next few days, Outer Sunset residents have a promising week of fun and that summer feeling ahead.
On Saturday, head over to the newly reopened Lawton Trading Post for a pop-up with Churn Urban Creamery, who will be at the deli-turned-community space every other Saturday. Based in the Outer Sunset, the creamery features handmade ice creams with unique flavors; Saturday's pop-up will include strawberries 'n cream and matcha stracciatella.
The highlight of the weekend is sure to be the launch of the 79th season of the Stern Grove Festival, starring the futuristic R&B funkstress Janelle Monáe with opener Midtown Social. It's first come, first served for the free concerts, so get there early to reserve your spot for what's sure to be a crowded and lively event—and check out our guide to making the most of the festival.
On Tuesday, relax with the second International Yoga Day at Sivananda Vedanta Yoga Center. The Center will be hosting an all-day program of yoga classes and meditation to soothe the soul. That evening, Taraval Police Station will also restart its monthly community meetings to talk crime and safety with the neighborhood.
Here are all the events coming up this week in the Outer Sunset. For more fun around the city, check out our full events calendar at hoodline.com/events. If you have an event you'd like to add to our calendar, you can submit it here for free.
