Thieves Punch 71-Year-Old, Steal His Puppy At Divisadero Farmers Market [Updated]Photo: Divisadero Farmers Market

SFPD reported this morning that a puppy was stolen from the Divisadero Farmers Market on Sunday afternoon.

The puppy's owner, a 71-year-old man, was working at a booth when a 25-year-old female suspect asked him if she could watch the puppy while he worked. The man agreed, but was then approached by a second 25-year-old male suspect, who punched him and knocked him to the ground. While the puppy's owner was on the ground, the two suspects fled through the crowd with the puppy. No arrests were made.

No description of the puppy has been released, but we've reached out to SFPD for more information and will update when we receive it. If you have any more information on the incident or the missing dog, send us a tip

Update, 1pm: SFPD told us that the puppy was a one-month-old blue-nose pit bull named Cupcake. She's described as being gray and white, with green eyes. She has not been recovered, and the suspects have not been found.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or comes across the puppy is encouraged to call the SFPD Anonymous Tip Line at (415) 575-4444, or text a tip to Tip411 with SFPD at the start of the message.
