Got a few holes in your weekend schedule?
Well, it's time again for another Lower Polk Art Walk. Highlights this month: a "Lord Of The Thrones" group show at SpokeArt and a poolside afterparty with Artspan at the Phoenix Hotel.
As we reported earlier this week, the 31st Hospitality House Art Auction is this Friday evening, and Hoodline is a media sponsor. The live and silent auction is the nonprofit's largest fundraiser of the year, and supports all six of its free community programs. It's great way to add to your collection of local fine art.
In other news, festival season has arrived, and this Saturday afternoon marks the first-ever Little Saigon Larkin Street Festival. Join a cross-section of the corridor's small businesses—including RS94109, Fleetwood, Turtle Tower and Rusty's Southern—for an afternoon of music, fashion, ethnic food, arts and crafts, and more on Larkin Street from Ellis to Eddy. The artists behind "Temporal Cities" will also be out to collect stories from the neighborhood.
And while you're at it, mark your calendars for two more festivals that are coming up: a TenderloinLove block party next Saturday, June 11th, and Sunday Streets on July 10th.
For more events from around the city, visit hoodline.com/events. And if you've got an event of your own to share, submit it here—it's completely free.
