Each week, we'll feature an especially interesting event in the neighborhood based on the event submissions we get, and what we hear about while we're out on the beat. If you want to be considered for next week, please submit your event here.

If you love bicycles, dogs, internet-famous pets or ice cream, swing by PUBLIC Bikes on Saturday for a special party, celebrating all of the above.

"Raise The Woof" will celebrate the dogs in our lives, and the bicyclists who love them. "Dogs and bicycles have always played a role at PUBLIC," states the company. "We have two dogs - Simone and Riley - as our unofficial mascots. Dogs are often found walking our stores and snoozing under our office desks."

The free event will include dog treat samples from The Honest Kitchenin house pet portraits from 3-5pm, and $5 raffle tickets with prizes such as the Timbuk2 mutt mover bag, and a Rickshaw Bagworks pannierAll proceeds will go to a local animal shelter. Churn Urban Creamery will be in attendance, offering tasty cold treats for humans.

There will also be an internet celebrity in the party's midst: Chompers. With over 91,000 Instagram followers and a stint as a real estate agentChompers is San Francisco's most famous Corgi, and he will be available for photos at the event.

The pup party kicks off at 11am, and runs until 5pm.
