Mark Twain never claimed that the coldest winter he ever spent was a summer in San Francisco, but it's a safe bet that if he lived in the Sunset, he'd be sleeping with the windows closed these days.
Don't let the daytime fog and chilly nights put a damper on your weekend plans; layer up, and explore the Sunset's infinite variety: immerse yourself in nature, feel the thrill of a stadium full of cheering fans, or put on a black turtleneck and attend a book reading.
The world Sunset is your oyster.

At Kezar Stadium, SF City Football Club will seek revenge on the Las Vegas Mobsters, who beat SF 2-0 in its home opener. Kickoff is at 3pm on Saturday, but many fans will gather first at Kezar Pub on Stanyan to imbibe some, er, team spirit. Established in 2001, supporter-owned SF City FC is part of the Premier Development League.
Food and drinks will be available inside Kezar during the game. Purchase tickets online; the stadium opens at 2pm.
Green Apple Books on the Park has two author events next week: on Monday, travel writer Nora O'Neill will discuss her memoir, "All Strangers Are Kin," and on Tuesday night, attendees will have a chance to play backgamon with author Jesse Ball as he talks about "How To Set A Fire And Why," his latest novel.
Here's a look at what else is going on in the Inner Sunset over the next week. For more goings-on around town, visit hoodline.com/events.
