Are you ready for the upcoming week, Outer Sunset? Because it's jam-packed with events to get you out exploring your neighborhood and meeting your community.
This Saturday, join Supervisor Katy Tang and Kingdom of Dumpling for a master class in wrapping dumplings alongside your neighbors. (Note: the class will be held at i-Skewer, because of space considerations.) Churn Urban Creamery is also holding their twice-monthly ice cream pop-up at Lawton Trading Post on Saturday, with their delicious, unusual flavors made right in the neighborhood.
Saturday also brings what's sure to be an epic meetup for the game that everyone is talking about: Pokemon Go. This Ocean Beach meetup will gather at Beach Chalet, so that players can catch all the watery pocket monsters near the sea.
On Sunday, Playland at 43rd Avenue has no fewer than three events, including yoga, a workshop on watering your garden during a drought, and a community garden work day. Afterwards, head over to Stern Grove to catch alt-folk singer Joan Osborne, best known for the song that asked if God was "One of Us." During her concert, Tillamook ice cream will also be on hand with a sweet treat: a DIY Sundae Bar.
Finally, for civic-minded folks, Tuesday sees a community meeting at Taraval Station, where neighbors can share their concerns about crime and public safety with Captain Denise Flaherty and the SFPD.
Here are all the events coming up this week in the Outer Sunset. For more fun around the city, check out our full events calendar at hoodline.com/events. If you have an event you'd like to add to our calendar, you can submit it here for free.
