158 art vendors who were displaced from Justin Herman Plaza for the Super Bowl City festivities this winter have been reimbursed by the city for the loss of income, to the tune of $590 each, reports the Examiner

The funds for the artists who normally do business at the foot of Market Street came from $100,000 impact fundco-sponsored by supervisors Aaron Peskin and Jane Kim, which was established in March.

Still, street artist Michael Addario estimated that the Super Bowl disruption cost vendors about $2,500 apiece in lost income. “The Arts Commission basically screwed us," he told the Examiner. See the full story here
