Before taking a look at the week ahead, let's take a break from the usual to consider Suu Ngo, a familiar face to many Inner Sunset residents. For the last five years, Ngo, 67, has been keeping the streets clean near Irving & 9th. The work is physically demanding, but it's also been a positive experience for Ngo, who took the job to support herself and three grandchildren.
In a video produced by the Chronicle, Ngo talks about her family, immigrating from Vietnam, and her connection to the neighborhood. "Everybody know me. They love me. They happy to see me." (Caution: Get ready to tear up.)

Sunset Library: Book Club Tonight, Knitting Circle on Saturday
Putterers and homebodies have two great reasons to get out this week: the Sunset Library is hosting the Sunset Book Club tonight, and a knitting circle on Saturday. The book club gets together at 7pm on the first Wednesday of each month, alternating between fiction and non-fiction. Tonight, readers will dive into Lily King's Euphoria, a passionate novel set between the World Wars.
The knitting circle invites crafters at all levels to bring their yarn, needles and enthusiasm to the library at 10:15am on Saturday morning. The group meets on the first and third Saturdays of the month and is strictly BYOY—bring your own yarn.
Park Station August Community Meeting This Tuesday
Next Tuesday, Park Station's monthly community meeting will be held at 45 Church St., near the N-Judah dropoff at Church/Duboce/Fillmore. To make the station's meetings more inclusive, Capt. John Sanford, Jr. is moving the meeting to different locations around the district. Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month.
Here's a look at what else is going on in the Inner Sunset over the next week. For more goings-on around town, visit hoodline.com/events.
