This week's Central Station newsletter is on hiatus, so we'll go right into the latest neighborhood crimes culled from SFPD's daily recaps. 

Man severely injured after kick to the head

On August 27th at 1:30am on the 500 block of Broadway Street in North Beach, two men in their 20s got into a verbal argument that then escalated into a physical altercation. One of them then punched the other, 29, in the head, which caused the victim to fall to the pavement. The suspect then stomped on the victim's head twice before fleeing the scene. The victim was taking to a hospital with a life threatening head injury. 

Bank robber threatens violence, makes off with cash

A man in his 20s entered a Wells Fargo Bank in the 0-100 block of California Street in the FiDi on August 31st at 3:20pm, approached an employee, 22, told him that "this was a robbery" and demanded money. According to police, the suspect pretended that acted as if he had a gun and said that he would shoot the employee if he didn't comply (no gun was seen). The employee handed cash over to the suspect, who then fled the scene on foot.

Man forces way into store, robs register

On the 800 block of Geary Street in Lower Nob Hill at around 3pm September 1st, a man in his late 20s entered a store and forced his way into the back where he pushed a man, 31, up against the wall. He then took money from the cash register and fled on foot.

Woman enters home through garage, steals meds

A hot prowl burglary occurred on September 1st on the 700 block of North Point Street in Fisherman's Wharf. A man, 57, witnessed a suspect in her 20s enter into his garage through a tradesman's door. He yelled at her to leave, but she had already entered an adjacent room and taken various medications before fleeing through the garage door. 

Two women robbed after getting out of ride-share

At 1am on September 4th near the corner of California Street and Grant Avenue, two women, both age 20, exited a ride-share car when two male suspects in their 20s approached them from behind. One of the suspects pushed one of the victims to the ground, and both suspects took the victims' belongings, including a purse, wallet, cash and cards, and then fled.

Victim gets wallet stolen after partaking in a drink

On the corner of Davis and Green Streets in the FiDi on September 6th just before 3am, two women and a man in their 20s were standing next to their car when a man walked up to them and offered them a drink. One of the victims took a drink, and the suspect then demanded payment for it. When the victim reached for a wallet to give him cash, the suspect snatched the wallet and fled the scene in a gray four-door car southbound on Davis Street.
