Funky Door Yoga Closes Its (Funky) DoorsPhoto via Funky Door/Facebook

Funky Door Yoga, the studio on Waller between Shrader and Stanyan, has closed its doors this month after more than 10 years in the neighborhood.

The move to close happened quickly and quietly. The studio posted a letter to their website, reading:

"Dear Beloved Friends and Customers, So much has changed in the last couple of years. We thank you for your many years of love and sweat. Our last day of business will be Saturday, September 24. We hope to see you soon!"

The studio continued giving classes through its last day, and then closed up shop.

On its Facebook page, Funky Door cites the 2008 recession as the beginning of the end, saying that attendance had been declining ever since, with a precipitous drop in 2014.

We'll keep an eye on the space, and let you know what may be next for the space.
