If you're seeking diversions in the Inner Sunset, your cup runneth over: this week, a street fair will transform Irving & 9th into a pedestrian plaza adjoining the farmers market, Green Apple Books on the Park is offering multiple author events, and a renowned urban farm is holding its first fall party. Read on, and clear some room on your calendar.

Saturday, 1pm: Garden For The Environment Fall Party
For 26 years, Garden For The Environment has been teaching San Franciscans how to live more sustainably, via its half-acre farm located at 7th Avenue and Lawton Street. This weekend, the nonprofit will hold its first fall garden party to celebrate the change of season, with live music, healthy food, beer and barbecue.
Festivities include an heirloom apple tasting, oven-baked pizzas, adult beverages on tap from several local breweries, and tours of GFE's well-tended urban farm, which holds weekend workshops and trains local agricultural advocates. Admission is $25, but free for children under 10.
Sunday, 10am: Inner Sunset Flea Market, Family Fun Day & Merchant Hop
It's been a while since the last Inner Sunset Sundays event, but this weekend, a flea market, merchant expo and family fun day will be rolled into one big block party to make up for lost time.

From 10am to 4pm, Irving Street will be closed to cars between 9th and 10th Avenues, adjoining the Inner Sunset Farmers Market. The street will be filled with booths from local businesses and aspiring makers, along with live music, food and arts and crafts. Organizers are also touting the event as a chance to "come and connect with your neighbors."
