Back in June, we reported that North Beach Chiropractic was set to make a move across the city to Divisadero Street after its landlord tripled the rent. Proprietor and caregiver Dr. James C. Park didn't skip a beat, and was able to secure a new location at 425 Divisadero St., renaming his practice Beacon Chiropractic. Park began building out the Divisadero space in June, and officially opened his doors on July 1st.

The new space is also home to fitness professional Leah Keller, whose "Dia Method" program for pre- and postnatal fitness focuses on repairing the abdominal separation (diastasis recti) that occurs during pregnancy. Although Park and Keller are separate entities sharing the space (Keller has a separate treatment room), they're planning to offer comprehensive packages of both their services.
Park, who has been a chiropractor for more than a decade and also lives in the neighborhood, told us that he loves the new space. "I look forward to meeting everybody in the neighborhood. I have a lifelong passion for what I do, and the health of our community is part of the bigger picture."
Beacon's offerings include chiropractic care, various types of massage and bodywork, and a variety of workshops on health and wellness. Park employs a practice called "Bio-Geometric Integration," which works to release tension and stress stored throughout different parts of the body.
"[BGI] allows me to look at a client, see how tension is stored, and work to release these patterns in order to bring balance to their body, allowing it to express full health and function," Park told us. "Through this deeper understanding of the body, the chiropractor is able to more effectively and gently release the subluxation, and assess the effectiveness of the adjustment."

While Keller sees only private clients, Dr. Park offers both 'open sessions,' which can include other people in the space, or privately. He's offering discounts to anyone who works along the Divisadero corridor, as well as to other chiropractors and anyone in the healthcare or wellness profession.
To make an appointment to see Park and/or Keller, visit Beacon's website or call (415) 788-0299. The center is open from 8am to 6:30pm Monday through Friday, and by appointment from 10am to 12pm on Saturdays.
