
At 7:55pm last night, November 29th, movie goers at the Metreon were forced to evacuate the building after SFPD received a call about an individual armed with a handgun inside.

One theater goer at the scene tweeted that there may have been an altercation inside one of the theaters, which led an individual to brandish a gun.

The SFPD later announced via email that one person was detained and a handgun was located at the scene. As an arrest had not been made, the detained individual's identity was not released.
Hoodline media partner ABC7 tweeted the following video of a man being taken into custody just outside of the movie theater, shortly after police arrived on the scene.

As this is an ongoing investigation, police are asking anyone with information to call the anonymous tip line at 415-575-4444 or text a tip to TIP411 and begin the message with "SFPD."
