Upper Haight Construction Update: Goodbye, Quiet Saturday MorningsPhoto: Amy Stephenson/Hoodline

The Upper Haight sewer and water line replacement project is continuing apace, with only one gas leak incident of note so far. But for the next few Saturdays, residents will be feeling the noise.

As we've previously mentioned, the city has a moratorium on construction during the holidays, and that moratorium begins on Thanksgiving Day.

With Thanksgiving rapidly approaching, crews have had to make some adjustments to ensure they hit the deadline, says SF Public Works' Alex Murillo. To this end, they've added Saturdays to the schedule. They'll start this Saturday, November 5th, and continue until the project is finished.

So, if you're around the Masonic to Ashbury block of Haight, get the coffee started early; it's going to be loud.

As for the project's status, crews are currently working on finishing the water main line and laterals, and repairing the trench.

The silver lining? With Thanksgiving nearing, a temporary reprieve is in sight. Hang in there.
