Thursday: Poets Reading The News
Poets Reading The News is hosting a "night of sparkling literary madness," featuring performances by poets and activists from around the world. Hosted by Jan Steckel, Luna G. Reiley, Elle Aviv and Jenna Spagnolo, the event will include poetry video installations and an open mic.
Friday: Oakland General Strike
On the day of the inauguration, the Ronald V. Dellums Federal Building (1301 Clay St.) will be shut down with a mass picket line for the Oakland General Strike.
Various events will take place throughout the day, including a Mutual Aid Fair with workshops and teach-ins, as well as open mic sessions and a "March of the Working Class."
