A two-car collision at the intersection of 18th and Church Streets last night around 11:20pm injured one driver and caused Muni to suspend service on the J-Church line for about an hour, a Hoodline tipster has reported. The other driver involved fled the scene, prompting police to search the area.

The injured driver "was conscious and responsive," said our tipster.

According to John E., the female victim, who "was conscious and respsonsive," was treated at the scene by paramedics before she was transported to the hospital. "They had her in a neck brace and were monitoring her vitals," he said via email.

Police searched the area for the other vehicle involved.

No description was immediately available for the car that left the scene, but it reportedly fled east, "and the cops made a spirited effort to catch it by looking out for any car with front end damage seen in that area."

Police closed Church Street between Hancock and 17th and limited traffic along 18th Street as they conducted an investigation. Traffic and Muni service was restored around an hour later at 12:30am.
