San Francisco police asked people in Hayes Valley in the vicinity of Oak and Webster Streets to shelter in place this morning due to police activity.
Avoid the Area / Shelter in Place in area of Oak St Btwn Buchanan & Webster St's due to police activity, until further notice.

The order was issued at 11:18am for Oak St. between Webster and Buchanan; at this time, there's no word on why police are asking people to remain indoors and avoid the area.
[Updated: 12:04pm] Emergency officials have lifted the shelter in place order.

[Updated; 12:09pm] According to Bay City News, police spokeswoman Officer Giselle Talkoff said police issued the order because they were responding to a suicide attempt, which has been averted.
