Police have closed Marina Blvd. between Buchanana and Laguna Streets as they investigate a report of a suspicious package on a Muni bus.

The bus, which has been evacuated, is outside the Safeway parking lot on Marina Blvd. According to ABC7, several businesses in the area, including the grocery store, have also been cleared of people while SFPD's bomb-disposal team is en route to the scene.

Drivers should avoid the area; the 43 bus line is currently skipping its regular stop at Marina Blvd. and Laguna St. until the incident is resolved.

[Update: 1:56pm] In a Tweet, @SFPDSgtMike announced that there was "no merit to anything hazardous" and police have cleared the scene.
