Yesterday, a group of three suspects assaulted two different victims in separate incidents that took in the Portola and Silver Terrace neighborhoods within a half hour of each other.

In the first incident, a 28-year-old man was out on a walk at around 6:10pm near Silliman and Girard streets in Portola. The suspects—described as a 21-year-old man, a woman in her 20s, and a man in his 20s—drove by and got out of the car. They attacked the victim, and the first suspect, the 21-year-old man, pulled out a knife.

The victim tried to flee, but he fell down. The suspects started punching and kicking him before leaving the scene in their vehicle.

The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the incident.

About twenty minutes later, at 6:32pm, the three suspects were involved in a road rage incident in Silver Terrace that escalated into an aggravated assault.

The first suspect, who was driving, pulled up in front of another car at Bayshore Blvd. and Carroll Ave., causing it to stop. The three suspects then got out of their car and started throwing glass bottles at the victim's car.

The victim, a 29-year-old man, got out of his own car and started fighting the trio. The second suspect—the woman in her 20s—hit the victim with a bottle, while the first suspect hit him in the face and pulled out a knife.

The first suspect and the victim struggled. Then, the three suspects returned to their vehicle, with the first suspect again as the driver.

He then intentionally backed into the victim's car as the group fled the scene. The victim later drove to the hospital to treat his injuries, and is expected to survive.

The first suspect was later found and arrested by police, but the two other suspects—the woman and a man in his 20s—are still at large.

Police are investigating the two incidents. Anyone who has information about either incident is encouraged to contact SFPD via the department's anonymous tip line at 415-575-4444, or text TIP411 with "SFPD" at the start of the message.
