Here's an overview of notable incidents reported around the Castro since our last crime roundup.

All reports come from the SFPD's daily crime recaps, unless otherwise noted.

Armed Robber Steals Wallet, Phone

On August 28th at 1:20am, a 20-year-old man approached another man, 24, near Hartford and 17th. The younger man pointed a gun at the other man and demanded his belongings.

The victim gave the suspect his wallet and phone before running away. The suspect fled and no arrest was made.

Home Invasion Robber Injures Resident

Later on the 28th at 9:15pm, a male suspect, 20-25, forced himself inside a home on the 4000 block of 19th St. as a 65-year-old woman was closing the door.

He knocked her to the ground as a roommate returned home. The suspect fled and the victim had non-life threatening injuries.

2 Suspects Attack, Rob Man Near Castro & Market

On August 23rd at 2:08am, two male suspects, both 20-25, attacked a 38-year-old man near Castro and Market. The suspects then went through the victim's wallet and stole items before fleeing on foot. No arrests were made and the victim was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

5-Person Mob Attempts Bike Robbery, Victim Slashes Suspect

Later on the 23rd at 4:44pm, five suspects attempted to steal a bicycle in Dolores Park, but the bike's owner pulled out a knife and slashed one of the suspects in the arm. Four of the suspects were detained while the fifth was transported to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

3 Muggers Send Victim To Hospital

On August 16th at 2am, three male suspects surrounded a 34-year-old man near 20th and Church and ordered him to hand over his valuables.

The suspects then hit the man, who fell to the ground. The assailants stole his backpack, wallet, phone, and tablet before fleeing on Church Street. No arrests were made and the victim was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Suspects Fire Warning Shot Before Robbing Man

Three robberies were reported on August 15th around 1am within a few blocks of each other.

During the first robbery, which took place near Douglass and Market, two men in their 20s approached another man, 24, brandished a handgun, and fired a shot in the air. The suspects then stole the victim's wallet, credit cards, and money before fleeing. No arrests were made. 

Two Men Rob Another With Gun

At 1:10am, two male suspects, 20-25, approached a 28-year-old man while he was walking near Church and 17th. One of the suspects revealed a gun and demanded property while the other searched the victim's belongings.

The suspects fled with the victim's backpack, wallet, phone, and pocket knife. No arrests were made. While the description of the suspects and timing and location of the incident could tie in with the earlier, 1am robbery, the SFPD has given no indication of any connection.

Man Hugs, Gropes Victim, Then Steals Wallet

The final reported robbery on the 15th took place at 3:50am on Castro near 16th. A 38-year-old man was standing outside of a business when another man, 30, came up to him and gave him a hug.

The younger man then groped the victim and stole his wallet before fleeing on foot. The victim recovered the wallet and found money missing. No arrest was made.
