It's time for a recap of crimes reported in SoMa since our last crime round up.

All reports are taken from the SFPD crime blotter, unless otherwise noted. 

Assault With Pipe After Verbal Altercation

A 32-year-old woman and a 67-year-old man were assaulted with a pipe at 4:00pm at 6th and Minna streets on July 30th.

The female victim and a 32-year-old female suspect were engaged in a verbal altercation when the suspect struck the victim in the head, began to walk away, and struck the second victim. No arrests were made in the case; both victims refused treatment for head lacerations. 

Armed Late-night Carjacking On Jessie St.

At 2:58am on July 30th a 25-year-old man had his car stolen on the 100 block of Jessie Street.

The victim reported that he had left his keys in the ignition when a man in his late twenties or early thirties jumped into the victim's car. The victim tried to stop the suspect, who brandished a gun and fled in the victim’s vehicle. No arrest was made. 

Assault Near Pearl & Pink 

A 27-year-old man was hospitalized after being assaulted by two male suspects in their twenties on Pearl Street and Pink Alley on July 30th just after midnight.

The victim was walking down the street when he was assaulted by the suspects and struck on the head, causing him to lose consciousness. The injury was non-life threatening, and no arrest has been reported.  

Assault, Robbery With Wire Cutters

On July 28th, a 38-year-old man was injured during a robbery on 10th and Minna Streets at 7:40am.

A 30-year-old male suspect approached the victim and demanded his money before striking the victim several times with wire cutters and fleeing on the victim's bike.

The victim sustained lacerations to his head and neck and was reported to have lost consciousness before he was transported to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. No arrest was made.

Woman Robbed At Knifepoint

A 41-year-old woman was robbed at the unit block of New Montgomery Street at 11:28pm on July 22nd.

The male suspect in his twenties approached the victim from behind, grabbed her purse from her shoulder, and threw her to the ground. The suspect then brandished a knife and took a purse containing ID, credit cards and money. The suspect then fled northbound on 2nd Street, and the victim was treated at the scene. No arrest was made in the robbery. 

Late-night Baseball Bat Assault 

At 2:26am on July 21st, two men aged 24 and 27 were assaulted on 9th Street and Howard Street.

Two suspects, described as 20-year-old males, assaulted the victims with a knife and a baseball bat. One victim sustained a stab wound, while a second victim was chased and assaulted with a bat.

Suspects fled on foot, and no arrests have been made. Both victims were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Man Injured With Pepper Spray 

A 60 year-old male victim was injured with pepper spray during an assault at 9th and Bryant at 4:08pm on July 20th.

The 30-year old suspect reportedly started a verbal fight and threatened the victim, after which the dispute escalated into a physical altercation.

The suspect then pepper-sprayed the victim, causing him to fall to the ground. No arrest was made and the victim was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

Late-night Mugging Near Caltrain Terminal

On July 20th at 2:25am a 59-year-old male victim was robbed at 4th and Townsend and was hospitalized with non-life threatening injures.

Two unknown male suspects approached the victim and began pushing and hitting him. One of the suspects then went through the victim’s pockets and took his money. Both suspects fled north on 4th Street and no arrests have been made in the incident.
