Early Saturday morning in the Castro, a man snatched a dog from two women who were out for a walk, police have reported.

The incident took place at 5:36am near the corner of Castro and Market streets when two women, one 49, the other 46, were approached by the suspect, a man in his twenties.

After a verbal altercation, the suspect grabbed the dog from the older victim and fled the scene on foot. No arrests have been made in the case, and the dog, a Chihuahua, has not been recovered.
