Hungry for dumplings? A new neighborhood Nepalese spot has you covered. Called Urban Momo, the fresh arrival is located at 87 N. San Pedro St. in downtown San Jose.

The new eatery specializes in Nepalese momos, dumplings filled with chicken or veggies. You'll also find a variety of fusion dishes—which combine Indian, Chinese and Nepalese flavors—from the Himalayan region, as well as salads and signature Nepalese entrees.

On the menu, look for chicken or lamb tikka kabab; Nepali khaja, seasoned lamb or chicken served with flattened rice and roasted soy; Nepalese-style chow mein with veggies, egg, or chicken; or choila, spicy lamb or chicken served with vegetables.

Round your meal out with sides like garlic or plain naan, basmati rice, and mango, salted, or sweet lassi yogurt drinks.

The newcomer has gotten an enthusiastic response thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of 19 reviews on Yelp.

Thelma Lee G., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on November 19th, said: "Three of us decided to try this place because I love momos. We ordered chicken momos, the fried rice and chicken tikka masala. All were absolutely delicious and low in oil, which is hard to do."

And Josh Z. said: "The chow mein is pretty good: full of natural flavors, cilantro, green onion, lightly spiced. Get the vegetable momos—the chicken is good, but the veg momos are the best I've had."

Head on over to check it out: Urban Momo is open Monday–Thursday from 11am–10pm, Friday and Saturday from 11am–11pm, and Sunday from 11am–9pm.
