Hungry? A new neighborhood Japanese spot in San Jose has you covered. The new arrival to North Willow Glen, called Sushi Arashi, is located at 1181 Lincoln Ave.

This new sushi spot has taken over for Edna Ray Chinese, which closed this spring. The menu spans the full range of Japanese cuisine, from noodle soups like ramen and udon to entrees like salmon teriyaki, but the main focus is sushi, with both nigiri and rolls available.

The most popular rolls include the Goldeneye, with shrimp tempura, crab, avocado, and baked scallops, and the 49ers Roll, a California roll topped with tuna and salmon. All diners receive complimentary edamame, and a selection of Japanese beers and sake is also available.

Sushi Arashi has gotten off to a solid start thus far, with a four-star rating out of 32 reviews on Yelp.

Corinna B. who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on December 10th, said: "Tried this for the first time with my friend and was really impressed with everything! I got miso soup (a usual for me) and it was perfect! Some places water it down or it tastes off, but here it was good! I got the dragon roll and my friend got a Willow Glen roll and both were delicious!"

Yelper Tila S. added: “Very fresh sushi. Generous portion. Friendly staff. Reasonable price. We also received free three scoops of ice cream for our son's birthday. This place is going to be packed in the near future."

And Cesar G. said: "Food and service was amazing. One of my top three local sushi spots. Very attentive. So many options on the menu. Very traditional entries. Fish was VERY fresh."

Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Sushi Arashi is open Friday and Saturday from 11am–11pm, and Sunday–Thursday from 11am–10pm.
