Traffic lights throughout San Francisco are malfunctioning, according to the city’s Department of Emergency Management (DEM).
The agency reports that signals are out in SoMa between 6th and Mission and 13th and Market, and on Folsom and 6th to Folsom and Hawthorn streets.
Kristen Sze of ABC7 Tweeted that “hundreds of traffic lights” are out of service; at 11:40am @TotalTrafficSF reported an outage at 19th Avenue and Ulloa in the Sunset.
Police are directing traffic in some busy areas, but officials are asking the public to treat the intersections as 4-way stops until lights are functioning normally.
We'll update this story as more information is available. In the meantime, please share any known locations of malfunctioning traffic lights in the comments.
