There's a brand-new brewery coming to town. Located at 718 S. 1st St. in downtown San Jose, the fresh addition is called Camino Brewing Co.
With the grand opening of the newly constructed taproom on April 7th, Camino Brewing says on Instagram that the new venture is "the start of something beautiful."
Joanna Dunham, the spot's manager and part-time brewer, told the Mercury News that she's seen an uptick of women in the craft-brewing industry. "It’s less that we’re women in beer and more that we’re people in beer.”
Camino Brewing Co. has gotten an enthusiastic response thus far from its soft opening, with a five-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp.
Hilary K., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on March 18th, said, "If you are a local beer lover, you've surely run into Camino's delicious varieties at your local craft beer store. ... Friendly staff, delicious beer, tons of potential."
Yelper David A. added, “They have very interesting beer. They don't just have standard styles; they put their own twist on things. The one I see most often is the Cafe Con Leche Stout, which is a sweet, toasty stout with coffee."
Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Camino Brewing Co. is open Thursday and Friday from 4pm–8pm, and Sunday from noon–4pm. (It's closed on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday.)
